Plan ahead for Easter Weekend!
Good Friday service March 25 is at 7:00pm. There will be expanded child care this year through 5th grade (a separate program for them in the gym), but all families are welcome to worship together.
Easter Sunday services March 27 will be at the normal Sunday times, 9:00 and 11:00am. There is child care available for infants through 3 year olds, but no Sunday School classes that morning.
Good advice from David T — we love having him play in our services!
Which songs did we sing most often in 2015? Here are the results —
JESUS PAID IT ALL 12 times. Well, no surprise. DOXOLOGY was used 9 times.
10,000 REASONS & STRONGER tied at 6. Both songs consistently resonate with our multi generational congregation.
THE SAME LOVE & THIS IS AMAZING GRACE tied at 5 times. 8 other songs tied at 4.
Anything surprise you? I’m always a little amazed we didn’t do certain songs more than we actually did! All others were 3 or less, many just one time in 2015. Typically in the new year I try to ‘retire’ a few more songs on my list, and add a few others.
This Sunday December 20 we’ll celebrate the final Sunday of Advent and the arrival of Christmas together in family services at 9 and 11am! Come and sing in the Christmas Choir, and enjoy worshiping as one this Sunday.
Nativity is also happening all weekend, each night from 6-9pm (last show at 8:40) – bundle up and join us!
We presented our values as a ministry moving into the next year, and decade, on Sunday morning Nov 8 – they’re attached here for you to read and share with others. Thanks to all of you for making this ministry unique and special and strong!
COD Worship Ministry Values 2015
Last Sunday we were led in worship by members of our high school & college group! Listen to their set in the Worship Box above under 2015 Worship Sets.
This coming Sunday we’ll have Rob leading the worship team, with guest message from Dr. Ron Allen (Dallas Theological Seminary).
Nativity is back!
This season our Living Nativity outreach will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday December 18-20, from 6 to 9pm each night.
The program this year is simpler and concentrated on the manger scene, and includes a small music team, an angel choir, Mary & Joseph & baby Jesus, and a narrator. We are having kids from our AWANA program read the Luke 2 story this year. The Angel Choir will be made up of boys & girls ages 5-12, and will sing along on a few songs on risers with the music team and audience. Each fifteen minute presentation will be followed by a 5 minute break, and we’ll do 3 of them an hour.
