Concerts this Spring

There are two big concert events coming up that we can now tell you about, both on Sunday nights this Spring at COD:

the Getty's latest CD is out now

Keith & Kristyn Getty, modern hymnwriters from the U.K., are bringing their music to COD on Sunday night March 21. Their concert is hosted by Haven Ministries, and is part of their annual thanks to their supporters in the Los Angeles area. Charles Morris will be here hosting the evening. We are all invited to come! The Gettys will be performing with full band; you will want to be here for this. Their commitment to writing hymns for this new generation has given us songs like “In Christ Alone“, “The Power of the Cross” and “Behold the Lamb“, all of which we have sung together. Check out more info on them at http://www.gettymusic.com .

Also coming Sunday night April 25 is the Biola Chorale from Biola University in La Mirada, CA, led by Shawna Stewart. This 60 voice choir will just be returning from singing at Carnegie Hall in New York! They are an esteemed choral group in Southern California, and have been since way before Julie and I sang with them not so many years ago. Tyler Wigglesworth, a sophomore music major from COD is currently singing with the group. Come and enjoy some powerful and moving choral music, and worship our wonderful God. I’m sure they’ll have lots of info on Biola, if you’re looking for more information. Also check out http://academics.biola.edu/music/ensembles/chorale .

The Gettys concert starts at 7:00pm, and the Chorale starts at 5:30pm. Both are in the Worship Center.
